Accounting Associate
Position Summary:
This entry-level position supports the accounting, operations, and headquarters office teams by completing accounts payable and office services. The individual will be part of an open, collaborative, and dynamic team, supporting and working directly with property accountants and onsite property teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process payments to vendors; batch payables, print checks, review payment history, and account resolution
- Coordinate with Property Accountants and Operation teams to prioritize invoice payments
- Manage invoice inbox, upload and route invoices to properties
- Mail or FedEx envelopes with checks, invoices, or other documents
- Post corporate charges and create property bill-back invoices
- Post property cash receipts to tenant charges and complete applications
- Run and post monthly rent rolls, late fees, tenant bill-backs, and create invoices
Data Entry and Reporting
- Manage the input of new vendors and updates
- Collect W-9s and confirm remit addresses
- Assist with yearly processes: sending vendor 1099s, coordinating property tax payments etc.
- Update Harvest cash flow projection files with current revenue activity
- Abstract tenant leases and enter lease data into various accounting systems
Office Administration:
- Pick up, date stamp, and distribute company mail to employees
- Monitor and order office supplies and snacks
- Ensure the office remains clean and organized
- Answer the front door and welcome guests
- Manage lunch catering as needed
Other Duties:
- Participate in special projects as requested

Experience:
- Must have very good verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Must be flexible, adaptable, committed, team-oriented and self-motivated
- Strong customer focus; strong team player capable of providing results under tight deadlines
- Well organized; self-starter, able to handle multiple priorities
Education:
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Accounting or Business degree preferred; will consider senior-year accounting/business student.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required
- Ability to learn Yardi and other accounting systems
- Ability to learn and use other software programs as required

- Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
